Description
Album: Hold Your Horse Is
Label: 5 Rue Christine
Artist: HeLLa

HeLLa's first album, this is the CD that made Zach and Spencer popular in the sacramento scene, CD made by 5 Rue Christine and the vinyl by Frenetic Records, this album came with a hype sticker that said "WARNING, Hella is not for everyone. This album will change the way you view music forever, so listen carefully" which is so fitting, 5RC knew they had a gem in their hands lmao. HeLLa had started around 2001, doing multiple live shows and concerts around the area, which bascially built their name and got them into the label, literally everyone that ive seen talk about HeLLa live during their early years says they were insane and nobody had seen anything like it before, so HeLLa from the beginning was already on their shit, so after getting their first record out, it was time to work on the second one of course, which came 2 years later in 2004...

As for how this sounds, its very organized chaos, i think thats the best way to describe them, for me personally, ive never said it but zachs drums arent really the main focus for me, not to say they are bad, jesus that would be insulting, what i am actually trying to say is that for me both Spencer Seim and Zach Hill's role in the music they create in this album are very important, but both are on the same level, Spencer's guitar play is so good but it wouldnt be the same without Zach, same can be said to Zach with Spencer, i dont think one is better than the other, but that both are great, their creation of this first album is so insanely good, Spencer and Zach both carry you through out a whole journy with the guitar and the drums, with their own splashes to complement each other, an absolutle insanity of an album and just shows the genius of the two, highly recommend to listen to
